Cluster inaugaration 18th March 2014

Computer Cluster Inauguration 18 March 2014 at DTU - Risø Campus

DTU’s largest supercomputer was recently purchased and installed at DTU Risø Campus. The main purpose for the computer cluster is activities within wind energy and mechanical engineering with emphasis on computational fluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction and structural optimization. It’s the second largest computer cluster in Denmark with its 144 TFlops and 6400 CPUs.

The inaugaration was celebrated with 5 presentations related to the futue use of the computer cluster named JESS. This cluster name was been selected to honour Jess A. Michelsen who was the architect behind the first dedicated DTU cluster YGGDRASIL and the Ellipsys code.
